Common Issues we can help with
Home » Common Issues
Our therapists are trained and experienced in helping individuals with a number of issues. Below are some of the most common issues we assist with:
Depression
Depression is often referred to as the “psychological common cold”, partly because depression is such a common psychological difficulty, with pervasive implications for mental health. Depression can also be recurrent and hard to shake, often hitting when our resources are low.
Anxiety
The anxiety that people experience as part of an anxiety disorder is no different to “normal” anxiety except that it is more intense, frequent, and easily activated, sometimes to the point of overwhelming distress and panic.
Relationships
Relationships are central to psychological health. Satisfying and supportive relationships with friends, family, or partners are associated with increased psychological wellbeing, and reduced levels of depression and stress.
Couples Counselling
Our Sydney based practice has a strong focus on couple therapy and relationship counselling. We have helped many couples to improve their relationships and respond to problems and difficulties in ways that bring them closer together, rather than drive them apart.
Migration & Relocation Issues
Relocating to a new country, or a new state or city, can be an exciting and constructive move, with potentially positive implications for an individual, couple or family. However, it can also be a very stressful experience that may bring with it a number of challenges and difficulties.
Trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress
Traumatic experiences inevitably have a significant impact on people’s lives. Events such as abuse, assault, injury, accidents, natural disaster, and war are by their very nature overwhelming and difficult to deal with. It is normal to have a wide range of responses following a traumatic experience.
Stress Management
Stress is ubiquitous. Stress becomes a problem either when it is chronic, that is ever present and relentless, or when our stress reactions are excessive and we become overly reactive in response to the challenges and difficulties in our life.
Workplace Issues
Work can be meaningful and rewarding, but when stress takes over, it can become overwhelming.
Women's Issues
While mental health issues affect people of all genders, some challenges may be more prevalent for women. We offer a safe, supportive space for women to explore their unique struggles.
Other Issues
We provide therapy for a wide range of other concerns to assist you with your well-being.
